If you have been reading my blog regularly, which I don’t think any one does, you’d know I stopped posting my quarterly goals. I still do them, I just don’t need or want to post them publicly. It can be a way of public humiliation, but that doesn’t work for me. I don’t give a rats ass what people think about me.
Instead, I’ve decided I’m going to post what I want to accomplish in the new year. Writing and art related only. These are only larger goals that will take a long time to complete.
1. Finish Draft 1 of Book 2 for Wardens of the Crystallis Series
I started writing book 2 this year and have come up with some AMAZING ideas. I’m so excited to get further into writing this book. It’s a lot more complex and longer than book 1. I just hope I can at least finish the first draft before 2019. I will occasionally post updates on my progress throughout the year.
2. Finish Beta Round 2 for The Lucin Stone
Right now, beta readers have some chapters from my book! It’s a bit nerve racking, but so far the response has been positive. I hope to get all of the beta reading stuff done early in the year.
I could always use more readers. Check out my beta reading post if you’re interested in reading an awesome epic fantasy novel.
3. Draw One of my Original Characters
If I can find the time to draw just one, ONE character I would be so happy. My life is pretty hectic right now and sitting down to draw at a table is so hard.
4. Design a Symbol
There is this symbol that appears in The Lucin Stone and I have no idea what it looks like. I’ve been stuck on this for months. I need to make this before I can publish book 1 because it HAS to go in there. I just really hope I can figure out what it looks like and SOON.
5. Choose My Editor
In 2017 I had made a list of editors that I was interested in working with. I narrowed it down just a hare. I’m REALLY pumped to send out my chapters and see which editors I like. I just hope it’s the ones on my list, so I don’t have to hunt around for more editors. And hopefully. HOPEFULLY, I will be sending The Lucin Stone to an editor this year.
That’s about all of my big goals for writing and art. I just hope from here it’s a straight road and I don’t end up having too many bumps or turns.
