Progress Update on The Lucin Stone

I got the guts to post my blurb after I vowed not to for over a month. If you’re interested in reading it, it is up on the navigation bar under the current work in progress link.

So far, I have 133,522 words written compared to my 100,762 words I had in September. I am halfway done with my second draft. I recently added a new character to the first book who plays a major role in the next book. He is my new obsession. I am expanding on his backstory as well as brainstorming for his future in the series.

There are approximately 60 Characters in the first novel. This does not include a few mentioned names of characters who appear in my future novels.

There are a total of 46 Chapters. I am certain that I am finally done adding chapters. The story is set except for a few minor tweaks here and there.

After I complete my second draft, which should hopefully be done by the end of this month, I will add all of my thirteen pages of notes and dialogue that I came up with recently. Come December, I will revise it to make sure everything makes sense and flows well.

What the future holds for my manuscript?

I have to finish drawing my map and symbol, work on my cover, and find beta readers. This will all be happening next year. And I am hoping to have my entire book finished by the end of 2016. Though as of right now I don’t see that happening so I’ll see where it goes come summer.

  1. When you get to the point of recruiting beta readers, I’d be happy to participate. As a writer of the same genre, I think we can both learn a lot from one another. I’ll also be looking for beta readers for my manuscript early in 2016 if you’re interested.

    1. Thank you. In the future I may be in search of a critique partner as well as beta readers but it won’t be for a few months yet. I have a deadline to meet so I won’t be able to beta read anything until after March.
